I have updated it, and it does provide me with faster acces to some of the features (like Bluetooth). Other than that I anticipate that the Airdrop feature may come in handy if you quickly want to exchange anything in class with somebody else without having to message, email, or upload it anywhere.
I have tried Airdrop at home between my laptop and that of my wife. Since my Mac is from 2007, I had to do some fiddling with it to make it work. It's pretty easy to share files this way. It should be even easier on mobile devices. Maybe we should try it during our next meeting?
